Its founder, Shitagau Noguchi, is the world\u2019s first chemist to successfully synthesize ammonia by the Casale Method here in Nobeoka. Encouraged by this success, he developed a wide array of products such as fibers including \u201cBemberg\u201d, chemical agents and basic chemical products. Many Asahi Kasei plants are scattered around the city, among which the Bemberg Plant and NS Energy Nobeoka Power Plant offer plant tours by reservation only. The Nobeoka Exhibition Center showcases the history and business of Asahi Kasei Group.
